About ourFestival
The Jamaican Culture Association has proudly organised the Jamaica Independence Festival since 2017. What started as a small community celebration has grown into one of Sweden’s largest Jamaican cultural events, attracting thousands of visitors each year. After several successful years at Lappis Beach, the festival moved to Kanaanbadet in 2025.
The festival has welcomed internationally acclaimed Jamaican artists alongside many of Sweden’s top reggae and dancehall performers. Visitors enjoy a full day of live music, DJs, dance performances, cultural activities, food vendors, family entertainment, and an evening after-party in central Stockholm.
Our mission is to celebrate and promote Jamaican and Afro-Caribbean culture while keeping the festival free, making it accessible to everyone.
